VSD card

What is the VSD card?
 
  • It is a nominal travel card, valid for one month on distances up to 1000 km
  • Gives the right to make a return trip on routes chosen by the passenger on every week-end (starting with 0,00 pm of Friday and until 12,00 am of Monday) of the validity period.
 
Reductions (at 1st class and 2nd class)
  • 60% - at Regio train, for youngsters under 26 years old, students
  • 50% - at Regio train
  • 35% - at InterRegio train
  • 25% - at Intercity train
 
The fare of the reservation ticket must be totally paid.
 
Validity
For travel cards issued for youngsters under 26 years old, it is taken into consideration the age of the first validity day of the travel card.
 
If the last Friday coincides with the last day of the validity period, the travel card remains valid on Saturday and on Sunday of that week-end.
 
Issuing
For students, the travel cards VSD can be issued based on “EURO 26” cards, school reports or student cards, documents necessary to be able to be identified in the train. The age can be proved by showing an ID and Personal Numerical Code (PNC), respectively the documents presented for students. The VSD card can be issued by any CFR railway station or travel agency from the country.
 
 
The VSD card for the ISIC and IYTC cards holders
Starting with the 1st of November 2009, the VSD week-end card with a reduction of 60% at Regio train will be issued, besides the other categories of passengers, to youngsters under 26 years old, and to students who hold “ISIC” (International Student Identity Card) and “IYTC” cards (International Youth Travel Card).
