From January 1, smoking is prohibited in trains and railway stations in Hungary

Following the press release received from the national rail passenger carrier in Hungary - MÁV-START, CFR Calatori would kike to inform that from January 1, 2012 under the  new legislation on the protection of non-smokers adopted in Hungary, smoking is not allowed in public spaces and institutions, and all means of public transportation from this country. 
 
 According to the new legislation, smoking is prohibited in:
 • all MÁV-START trains in national and international traffic,
 • all other public transport vehicles in Hungary,
 • all public transport stations (e.g tram stops, railway stations, etc.).
 
The fine is up to 30,000 Forints (~ 113 EUR).
 
MÁV-START Railway Passenger Transport Company would like to thank the passengers for understanding, also noting that the actions to be taken, are primarily aimed at achieving a clean, safe and comfortable rail transportation.
