May the 21th 2026

CFR Călători informs that between June the 12th/13th  and September the 6th/7th 2026, the special summer transport program “The Sun Trains” dedicated to trips to the Black Sea coast will enter into circulation. The programme is designed to provide direct rail links from the whole country to the sea during the summer season.

Direct connections and increased frequency

For a period of three months, tourists will benefit of 60 direct trains (30 one way/30 return) to the Black Sea coast, of which 28 are additional (14 one way/14 return), and the rest are part of the usual circulation (see annexes).

Additional direct trains are available from:

  • North-West: Oradea, Satu Mare/Baia Mare
  • West: Arad, Timișoara Nord, Reșița Nord
  • Center: Cluj-Napoca, Târgu Mureș, Brașov, Sibiu
  • North-East / Est: Suceava Nord, Iași, Galați
  • South: Craiova, București

These trains include intermediate stops and boarding possibilities at numerous stations along the route, facilitating tourists’ access to the Black Sea coast, as well as to the Danube Delta, through the connection to Tulcea City via Medgidia.

In addition to these trains, passengers from across the country benefit of numerous connections from Bucharest, as trains run regularly on the Bucharest North – Constanța main line, with departures that are distributed throughout the day. This high frequency offers flexibility in the choice of travel time, and the duration of the Bucharest Nord – Constanța distance travel is a short one, about 2 hours for InterCity trains and 2 hours and 20 minutes for InterRegio trains, making travel to the seaside faster and more comfortable.
